Incoming Juniors (24-25):
Please check your school email about graduation requirements; if you want to change your math class, please email Mrs. Hill or Mrs. Gaby by June 17th.

The 2024 DHS Commencement is scheduled for tonight at
8 PM at Leopard Stadium. Gates will open at 6 PM.
Balloons will not be allowed to enter the stadium until after the ceremony. This is so that all spectators have a clear line of sight to the graduates and to avoid any safety hazards. Family members are welcome to bring in balloons once the ceremony has concluded.
Please stay off the field turf during the ceremony. Lawn Chairs will be allowed on the track but must be kept away from the turf so the graduates have enough room to walk by.
Ceremony Conclusion: Please remain off the field until the graduates have finished walking to the south end of the field in front of the video board. This is for the safety of all graduates and their families.
Once the graduates have finished their walk, the field will be open for families to find their graduates, celebrate, and take family photos. This procedure will prevent a bottleneck of graduates and spectators in the stadium's north end and allow everyone enough space to move freely.
Regarding Stole/Cords: Graduates can only wear stoles and cords issued by DHS, UAC, or the military. We encourage parents and family to keep all other stoles in their possession until after the ceremony.
Please use a poncho if needed. No umbrellas please.
Graduates can pick up their official diplomas at the DHS office on Tuesday, May 14th.

The 2024 DHS Commencement is scheduled for tonight at
8 PM at Leopard Stadium. We are monitoring the weather closely. The ceremony will be relocated to the DHS Coliseum if rain is expected.
We will make a final announcement today at 4 PM.

National Assistant Principals Week, April 1–5, 2024, is a celebration of the unsung heroes in our education system. Assistant Principals play a crucial role, and this week is a dedicated time to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to our schools, students, and profession. Please join us in celebrating these incredible school leaders in our Leopard Family! #LeopardFamily #leopardpride

Several of our DQTV students competed at the Student Television Network's National Convention in Long Beach, California, earlier this month. This convention is annually attended by students from across the world and the top programs in the nation. We are happy to share that our DQTV program received two prestigious honors for General Excellence in Broadcasting while attending the convention. DQTV's monthly magazine show "Leopard Vision" received the "Outstanding Achievement in Broadcast Excellence" award, and DQTV's weekly "Leopard Sports Update" received the "Distinguished Merit in Broadcast Excellence" award. These two honors place our DQTV program and its students among the top in the nation!!! During the trip to California, our students made a trip to Disney Studios and WB Studios, where they met several industry professionals who have worked on some of the biggest blockbusters in Hollywood! We would like to thank our many partners throughout the community and the Leopard Family, who have helped make these wonderful opportunities available to our hardworking students!! #LeopardFamily #leopardpride

The DHS Quiz Bowl team competed in the 5A Southwest Regional tournament finishing 2nd and qualifying for the state championship tournament on Saturday, April 13th. Our Leopard Family would like to congratulate Senior Lady Leopard Jaide Tatum, who signed her Letter of Intent with Henderson State University this week!! Miss Tatum has been a valuable member of the De Queen Leopard and Lady Leopard Track & Field and Cross Country teams for several years, and next fall, she will be hitting the trails for the Lady Reddies.
Head Cross Country Coach Dennis Chaney shared the following statement:
"Jaide Tatum is the type of runner that puts in a lot of miles on her own. She is a talented runner who has made herself even better with her work ethic. She is an excellent teammate who leads by example. She is a two-time All-Conference runner and has helped her team win The 7-4A Conference Championship all four years that she competed. I have been fortunate enough to be her coach throughout her entire cross-country career. I have coached a lot of great, hard-working kids, and she is one of the best. She has a great work ethic, but it was always fun to have her at practice and get an argument started with her. Most importantly, it was so much fun to win with her and see her achieve her goals. Henderson State is getting a great student-athlete!"

In honor of National FFA Week, the De Queen FFA officers hosted a petting zoo where K-12 students could engage with agricultural animals and projects raised by FFA members. #LeopardPride #LeopardFamily #NationalFFAWeek
