Investing in Their Future!

Thanks to the De Queen Board of Education, every DHS sophomore will receive a voucher to take one national ACT test at no cost to the student. This $13,725 investment gives our students an important opportunity to gain testing experience, identify areas for growth, and work toward scores that can open doors to college admission and scholarships.

Counselors will help students register during the first month of school. We encourage each sophomore and their family to review the available ACT dates carefully and select the date that works best with the student’s schedule. Once registered, students should prepare, arrive ready, and make the most of this valuable opportunity! #LeopardFamily #LeopardPride

De Queen High School is excited to introduce our 2026 Homecoming Court! 👑🖤💛 Congratulations to 2026 DHS Homecoming Queen Evelyn Ponce and this year’s Homecoming maids!

Homecoming Week is September 14–18, and this year we’re especially excited to bring back a longtime DHS tradition, HALL WARS! 🎨🏆

Instead of building class parade floats, students will bring their creativity and school spirit inside the halls of DHS as each class competes in Hall Wars! We’re excited to bring back a tradition that many of our alumni will remember, while also creating a Homecoming activity that won’t depend on the Arkansas weather! ☀️🌧️

And don’t worry, the Homecoming Court Parade is still happening! 👑

📅 Friday, September 18
• 2:00 PM: Homecoming Court Parade around the courthouse square
• 2:15 PM: Parade continues down School Drive
• 2:30 PM: Afternoon Coronation at the DHS Coliseum, followed by the pep rally
• 7:00 PM: Evening Homecoming Ceremony at Leopard Stadium
• 7:30 PM: Leopards vs. Ashdown Panthers 🏈

Our Engineering students got a firsthand look at what their future could hold! ⚙️📐 Former De Queen student Max Pinkerton returned to DHS as a guest speaker to share his experiences studying Engineering in college. He talked with students about what college-level Engineering courses are really like, what they can expect as they transition from high school to college, and some of the challenges and opportunities that come with pursuing an Engineering degree. We always love welcoming former Leopards back to share what they’ve learned and help our current students prepare for what comes next! 🐆🎓 #LeopardFamily

Day 1 of AP Statistics, and they’re already putting their observation skills to the test! 👃📊 Students participated in the “Smelling Parkinson’s” activity, based on the fascinating real-life story of a woman who discovered she could detect a distinct smell associated with Parkinson’s disease. Students used their own sense of smell to collect data, compare results, and begin thinking like statisticians. #LeopardFamily

Our bus drivers play an important role in our #LeopardFamily. They help make sure our students start and end their school day safely and with a familiar, caring face.

🚌 Route driver pay: $24/hour
🚌 178-day school schedule
🚌 Morning and afternoon routes with your day in between
🚌 Sick and personal leave for contracted route drivers
🚌 Incentive pay available for unused sick days
🚌 Substitute driving opportunities also available

Don’t have your CDL yet? Don’t count yourself out! There are steps required to obtain a Class B CDL and the necessary school bus endorsements, and our transportation department can help you understand the process and what you need to get started.
