De Queen High School

De Queen Schools will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow, Monday, February 2, 2026. As we return to school, families are asked to remain aware that some travel conditions may still be impacted by ice, particularly on county and side roads.
Please note the following:
-Bus drivers may not be able to safely travel every road on their assigned routes. Decisions regarding specific road travel will be left to the discretion of each driver.
-Parents may need to meet the bus at a location closer to a main road if their road remains icy or unsafe.
-Families may choose to transport students to school if they feel that is the safest option.
We ask everyone to take it slow and use caution during morning travel. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as conditions continue to improve.

DeQueen Students Partner with Region 5 FCCLA to Support Storm Readiness Efforts
Students from DeQueen Junior High and DeQueen High School, in collaboration with Region 5 FCCLA, took proactive steps to support the community by assembling storm readiness bags for those most in need.
The storm readiness bags were carefully packed with essential items to help individuals and families cope with potential power outages during severe weather. Each bag included snacks, flashlights, batteries, glow sticks, Hot Hands hand warmers, bandages, and other basic necessities.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the bags were delivered to Sevier County Emergency Management at an ideal time, just ahead of the incoming storm. Matt Webb, Director of Sevier County Emergency Management, emphasized the growing need for these supplies, particularly among local students who may be impacted by power loss and extreme weather conditions.
To ensure the bags reached those who would benefit most, Webb coordinated with DeQueen Primary School. The school will distribute the storm readiness bags directly to students and families identified as having the greatest need.
This project highlights the dedication of DeQueen students and FCCLA members to service and community support. Their efforts demonstrate the power of teamwork and preparedness in helping neighbors stay safe during challenging weather conditions.

💻Leopards Representing in Cybersecurity! 💻 De Queen Junior High and High School proudly took three teams to compete in the recent DMESC Capture the Flag Cybersecurity Challenge, a sports-themed, hacker-style event that tested students’ problem-solving, teamwork, and technical skills against teams from 11 districts and 16 teams across the region. We are especially proud to share that De Queen High School placed 2nd overall! 🎉 🏆 Team members: Maria Morales, Diego Bahena, and Victoria Saldivar Congratulations to all of our students for their hard work, determination, and creativity. Experiences like this showcase the strength of our computer science programs and the bright future of our Leopards! 🐆💛🖤 #LeopardPride #LeopardFamily
